Our Story
812 & Co. began with a feeling — the quiet beauty of Shizuoka that never left me.
I grew up in Yaizu (812), a coastal town where the scent of the ocean, tatami, and freshly brewed tea were part of everyday life. Those memories shaped not only who I am, but the way I see the world.
As a chef, I learned that things made with heart connect people far beyond language.
Good flavors, good materials, good craftsmanship — they all carry stories.
812 & Co. was born from the wish to share those stories with people in Australia.
To bring the warmth of home into modern living.
To let small, beautiful things remind us of where we come from.
812 & Co. の始まりは、静岡で育った私の中にずっと残っていた“あの頃の美しさ” でした。
生まれ育った 焼津（812） は、海の香り、畳の温もり、淹れたてのお茶の香りが日常にある場所。 その記憶は、今でも私をつくる大切な土台です。
料理人としての道の中で気づいたことがあります。
心を込めて作られたものには、人をつなぐ力がある ということ。
美味しいもの、手仕事のもの、長く愛されてきた文化には、必ず “背景の物語” が宿っています。
812 & Co. は、その物語をオーストラリアに届けたいという思いから生まれました。
日々の暮らしに小さな温もりを。こころがふっとほどけるような、日本の優しさを。
What We Curate
We work directly with artisans and makers from Shizuoka — people who create with sincerity, skill, and soul.
Each piece is thoughtfully selected:
tatami goods that carry the scent of Japanese summers,
handmade crafts shaped by tradition,
and tea that embodies the calm of Shizuoka’s mountains.
These are not just objects.
They are small vessels of culture, emotion, and memory — meant to be part of your everyday life.
